In addition to winning three Super Bowls with the Cowboys, Jones earned the NFL Executive of the Year award in 2014 and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017. However, the 83-year-old has made some questionable decisions during his lengthy tenure with the Cowboys, including parting ways with two-time Super Bowl-winning head coach Jimmy Johnson in 1993 and mishandling the Terrell Owens situation in Dallas in the late 2010s. Regarding Owens, it’s no secret that he and Jones bumped heads during his three-year tenure with the organization, but that didn’t make his unexpected release from the Cowboys in 2009 any less shocking (Owens has previously stated that he never saw it coming).
In a recent interview with Action Network’s Kyle Odegard, Owens didn’t mince his words on the Cowboys’ controversial owner. “I couldn’t care less about Jerry Jones,” Owens told Odegard Tuesday. "I don’t concern myself with the Cowboys.
