Detroit Tigers right-hander Jack Flaherty took a much-needed step forward. The defense didn't help him. The 30-year-old had 10 strikeouts and just one walk across five innings, but poor defense was to blame for all four runs in a 4-0 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday, May 6, in the finale of the three-game series at Comerica Park.
