Insider says Andy Reid got a 'close look' at son of legendary NFL QB
NFL insider Mike Garafolo says Chiefs HC Andy Reid got a 'close look' at E.J. Warner — son of legendary NFL QB Kurt Warner — during KC's rookie camp.
The Kansas City Chiefs have made significant offensive investments during the 2026 offseason and made a particularly strong effort to secure a capable backup quarterback to list behind Patrick Mahomes on their depth chart. After trading for former Chicago Bears and New York Jets signal-caller Justin Fields, the Chiefs front office selected former LSU Tigers passer Garrett Nussmeier with the No. 249 selection in the 2026 NFL Draft.
While Brett Veach was surely satisfied with the talent he had secured at the quarterback position after the draft, he saw fit to bring a few quarterbacks in for tryouts during Kansas City's rookie minicamp last week — most notably E. J. Warner, who is the son of legendary NFL quarterback Kurt Warner.
According to NFL insider Mike Garafolo, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid got a "good look" at Warner over the weekend: Fresno State QB E. J. Warner has accepted an invite to #Broncos rookie camp this week.
