Pistons' Kevin Huerter 'taking steps' but doubtful for Game 2 against Cavs

Kevin Huerter will likely miss his fifth straight game with an injury. He's doubtful for Game 2 vs. Cavs.

Detroit — The Detroit Pistons have maintained relatively good health during the first two rounds of the NBA playoffs. However, they have been without guard Kevin Huerter for an extended period. Huerter suffered a left adductor strain during Game 3 of the first-round series against the Orlando Magic, which took place at Kia Center on April 25.

He has been sidelined ever since. Before Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday, the Pistons listed Huerter as doubtful. There is currently no timetable for his return, despite minor improvements in his condition.

"He is taking steps," coach J. B. Bickerstaff said.
