Pitts was a monster, totaling 928 yards and 5 TDs for the Falcons last season, and Atlanta placed the franchise tag on the promising tight end. But there isn't any long-term security for Pitts, and if he has another big season in 2026, the Falcons could be on the hook for a big extension. However, with Pitts having only two good years out of five, the franchise might wait to see if he can replicate that form in 2026.
For NFL. com's Kevin Patra, he thinks the Falcons will extend Pitts, making him one of the highest-paid at his position in the NFL. "Pitts signs an extension that keeps him among the highest-paid TEs, but below the likes of Kittle and McBride," Patra writes .

Well, as the saying goes, you are only worth what someone will pay you, and I bet there will be a couple of teams who might pay Pitts a pretty penny to come to their organization. With George Kittle and Trey McBride at $19 million APY, as Patra wrote, Pitts likely falls in behind that.
