Westerville North basketball's Elijah McCree commits to Cedarville
Elijah McCree, who led Westerville North to the Division II state final, has committed to play college basketball at Cedarville.
Perhaps no central Ohio high school boys basketball player enjoyed more of a breakout season than Westerville North’s Elijah McCree , and now the senior guard knows his path to the next level. McCree announced on his Instagram page May 6 that he has committed to play for Cedarville University. “#agtg,” McCree wrote in the post, an abbreviation for “all glory to God.
” After serving as the Warriors’ sixth man during their Division II state championship run in 2024-25 , McCree averaged 20. 0 points, 3. 8 assists, 3.
3 steals and 2. 5 rebounds this winter as North (26-2) returned to the state final but lost 68-63 in overtime to Massillon Washington . He was named district and state Player of the Year .
McCree was a top performer for North throughout the season, including a Jan. 31 game against Cleveland St. Ignatius in which he made a program-record eight 3-pointers and finished with 32 points.
