Teen batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has impressed Rajasthan Royals so much that the franchise was ready to invest heavily in him. Former Bihar cricketer Samar Quadri and RR director Zubin Bharucha both praised his fearless batting and extraordinary talent. Bharucha even called him “the best player I have seen since Sachin Tendulkar,” comparing the youngster favourably with stars like Yashasvi Jaiswal.

NEW DELHI: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi may only be 15, but the young batter is already creating massive excitement in Indian cricket. Rajasthan Royals were so impressed after watching him bat that they were ready to spend heavily to secure him for the future. The teenager has become one of the biggest talking points of IPL 2026 because of his fearless batting and natural talent at such a young age.

Former Bihar cricketer Samar Quadri recalled the first time he saw Vaibhav bat and immediately realised he was special. Quadri said he had already heard stories about the youngster before facing him in a local match. “I had seen him in Patna.

I was playing a match and had heard a lot about him. ‘There is a boy, there is a kid who plays amazingly well. So I got to see him when I bowled to him," Quadri told Wisden.

The leg-spinner was stunned when Vaibhav attacked him confidently despite his age and experience. “And I saw the talent there because I am a leg-spinner who knows how to bowl to left-handers. And he (Sooryavanshi) whacked me over the covers.
