Tennessee pitcher named to SEC Community Service Team
Tennessee senior pitcher named to the 2026 SEC Community Service Team.
Tennessee senior pitcher Karlyn Pickens was named to the 2026 SEC Softball Community Service Team, announced by the league office on Wednesday. The annual honor recognizes one student-athlete from each SEC institution for outstanding service and contributions to their community. Pickens has been involved in a wide range of efforts throughout the Knoxville area.
She has volunteered at Lonsdale Elementary School, assisting with physical education classes. Pickens has also worked with the Special Olympics in support of local athletes. She has dedicated time to organizations such as Emerald Youth Foundation and Girls, Inc.
, helping create opportunities for youth development and mentorship. Pickens' service efforts also include participation in events with Community Holiday Meal and Voloween. In addition to her work in the community, she has excelled academically.
Pickens earned 2025 College Sports Communicators All-America second-team honors and is a two-time CSC Academic All-District selection.
