Stefon Diggs reunion pitch could give Patriots best WR unit in NFL

A Patriots receiving corps of A.J. Brown, Stefon Diggs and Romeo Doubs would be the ultimate nightmare for opposing defenses.

On Tuesday, Stefon Diggs seemingly put his legal drama in the rearview after being found not guilty of multiple charges , including felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault and battery, stemming from an alleged incident with his private chef over a money dispute. The New England Patriots released Diggs in an expected move at the start of the new league year back in March. He led the team in receiving in 2025 with 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns.

However, he was a 32-year-old receiver set to have the second-highest cap hit on the team in 2026 at $26. 5 million. Something had to give.

And yet, the Patriots have never completely shut down a possible reunion with Diggs. Executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf admitted he wasn't closing the door on bringing the four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver back into the fold. "Yeah, I never like to rule anything out," Wolf said on a potential reunion with Diggs on Up & Adams .
