Though this season didn’t go as we’d hoped, falling apart in hugely disappointing fashion in the last few weeks, there were some strong individual performers. And now (you won’t have guessed by the title of this piece, I’m sure) we’d like you to vote for your standout. Jack Marriott has already won the club’s official award, but it’s far from a shoe-in that he’ll get ours too.

In fact, our winner tends to be different, as you can see from this list. To help you decide on this year’s winner, we’ve narrowed it down to a shortlist of six players. We’ve also included the amount of minutes they managed overall, their average TTE rating and their total man of the match and player of the month wins.

8/10 MOTM awards: 2 POTM awards: 0 A hugely popular loanee, Doyle had a bright season at Reading as he continues his long-term development. The early-season switch from a 4-3-3 to a 4-2-3-1 seemed designed to get more out of him specifically, and he ended the campaign with a very respectable four goals and seven assists in all competitions from the number 10 role. More broadly, Doyle brought the kind of dynamism and creativity to this Reading side that few others have in recent years.
