Before going undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Vanderbilt quarterback took the program to historic highs with the first 10-win season in school history. However, some of his off-the-field antics were a cause for concern, including slamming Heisman voters and Fernando Mendoza after not taking home the hardware as college football's best player. One of his best moments from Pavia's 2024 season was beating Alabama.
Vandy's coming out party put him on the map and helped give him an identity. Had the Commodores beaten Alabama the second time around in 2025, Pavia would've been praised for his efforts and received some serious NFL Draft buzz. However, the 30-14 loss to the Crimson Tide made the win from the year prior look more like an outlier.
Pavia recalled the lead up to the Alabama game from this year. Needless to say, there was one massive detail we didn't know coming out of the game that changed the perception surrounding the loss. Could the Commodores have knocked off the Tide if Pavia was on time?
