Clemson Athletics breaks mutliple academic records

Clemson athletics did not have the loudest year in competition. Football dropped games it was expected to win, men’s basketball exited the NCAA Tournament in the first round, and baseball entered May sitting near the bottom of the ACC standings. For a department used to national relevance, it has been a frustrating stretch in a few of the sports fans follow closest.

But college athletes carry a title that goes beyond the scoreboard. They are student-athletes, and the first half of that label matters. Wins, rankings, and postseason runs will always drive the conversation, but the long-term pitch of college athletics is still built around development, education, and leaving campus with a degree.

Clemson posted its highest single-year Academic Progress Rate score in school history, earning a 998 out of 1,000 in the NCAA’s latest data release. The report covers the 2021-22 through 2024-25 academic years and gives Clemson one of the strongest academic marks in department history. We continue to make history in Tigertown!
