He's still in pain," coach Niko Kovac said during a news conference on Wednesday. Bensebaini had already missed the 1-0 defeat to Borussia Mönchengladbach last weekend. Dortmund host Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday and visit Werder Bremen on May 16 to close the season.
"Personally, I don't think it'll work out for the game in Bremen either. That means it's over for him in the Bundesliga for now, but not for the World Cup, of course," Kovac explained. Bensebaini will be hoping to play the World Cup in June and July with Algeria.
Forward Karim Adeyemi, meanwhile, is set to make his return after dealing with muscle issues and missing three games. He's already back in team training. Midfielder Felix Nmecha and defender Niklas Süle, who have also been sidelined recently, have also resumed training, but on a limited basis.
