Nebraska football is able to pick up a legacy commitment earlier this week as Maurice Purify II committed to the program.

Nebraska football picked up a commitment earlier this week from class of 2026 wide receiver Maurice Purify II. Purify was a three-star recruit. He was the 13th overall player in the class from the state of Nebraska, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings .

The receiver was previously committed to Washington State but decommitted on October 6, 2025. He had been committed to the Cougars since June last year. If his name sounds familiar, it should.

His father, Maurice, was a second-team All-Big 12 receiver at Nebraska. The younger Purify recorded 589 yards and 10 touchdowns in his senior season for Omaha Westside. He averaged 14 yards per catch.

This commitment is the 12th commitment in the class. It will certainly be exciting to follow the career of a Husker legacy. This is the type of addition that could fly under the radar and provide a boost to an already-loaded wide receiver room.
