Analyst ranks Titans' Carnell Tate as a top 10 rookie set for success in 2026 and beyond.

As the days click by since the end of the 2026 NFL Draft, many analysts have started to take a look back at the selections and are breaking down their fits with their new teams. The Tennessee Titans shocked many when they decided to add a weapon to Cam Wardโ€™s arsenal and selected Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate fourth overall. While this pick came as a bit of a surprise, Tateโ€™s potential impact on the offense canโ€™t be overlooked.

Tate gives the Titans a potential WR1 and should add a dimension to the unit that has been missing for some time. After some days of disbelief in the selection, many analysts are coming around on the selection, and that includes Tom Blair of NFL. com, who sees Tate as one of the top 10 rookies in this class set up for success with their new organizations.

Rank 8 - Carnell Tate- Ohio State - WR - Tennessee Titans The Titans' offense has cried out for a playmaking receiver for years, with former tight end Delanie Walker's 1,088-yard 2015 season standing out as the most prolific for the franchise, in terms of receiving yardage, since the start of the 2005 campaign. Cam Ward surely understands the value of a good tight end, having connected on a team-high 56 passes for 560 yards with Chigoziem Okonkwo (who is now in Washington) last season -- but he probably wouldn't be mad to establish a rapport with an honest-to-god WR1. Tate should have plenty of runway to make full use of the receiving skills that led him to be the first receiver taken off the board.

It's just tough to have enough confidence in Ward, or the Titans as a whole, at this point, to rank Tate higher. The Titans' receiver room looks completely different at this point than it did one year ago, and Tate is a major reason why. With a combination of size, athleticism, and a nuanced understanding of the position and route concepts, Tate should be able to step in and grow alongside Ward in 2026 and beyond, something that should make Titans fans happy for an extended period.
