A lot of the talk surrounding the New York Mets over the offseason was whether they were going to keep Freddy Peralta on the roster long-term.
The starter New York landed in its deal with the Milwaukee Brewers , the hope was to keep Peralta around for a very long time after the season, though he hits free agency at the end of the campaign. The expectation is for Peralta to reach the open market without an extension from New York.
