SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) — Mason High School senior Ainsley Burns made Texas UIL history on Tuesday as the first player to win four-straight state golf titles, leading the Cowgirls to a fifth-consecutive Class 2A team title in Austin. Burns shot 76-66–142 to beat Cisco’s Jakelee Woods by four strokes. Her final round of 66 is the lowest score in Mason team history.

As a team, the Cowgirls shot 341-306–647 to roll past second-place Spearman by a whopping 55 shots. Burns has signed to play for Angelo State University next season. Her father, Kade Burns, is Mason’s golf coach.
