Notre Dame’s Mark Quatrani named Buster Posey Catcher of the Week

Notre Dame lost a good one to the transfer portal so they grabbed a good one from the transfer portal.

The Notre Dame baseball season hasn’t gone the way we had hoped, but that doesn’t mean the Irish haven’t displayed some really good play by some of their players. Over the offseason, the Irish had to replace catcher Carson Tinney, who used the transfer portal to end up with the Texas longhorns. So, Notre Dame went into the portal and grabbed Mark Quatrain from Cornell — who was one of the best catchers in the Ivy League.

Quatrain has been excellent this season, and he was just named as the Buster Posey Collegiate Catcher of the Week. The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native posted a . 632 batting average as the Irish went 5-0 last week. He was 12-for-19 with three doubles, a home run, five runs scored and 11 RBI.
