Could the Denver Broncos still be looking for a tight end?

After the free-agent signing of Evan Engram was a bit of a flop last season, at least in terms of production versus expectation, the Broncos' tight end spot was a glaring weakness. The team chose to sign Adam Trautman, Nate Adkins and Lucas Krull to new contracts this offseason, but it seemed crazy to go into the 2026 season with the exact same group as last year. The Broncos added to the group, grabbing Justin Joly out of North Carolina State in the fifth round of the draft before selecting Utah's Dallen Bentley with the second-to-last pick in the seventh round.
Bentley seemed like a steal at that spot and Joly presents terrific potential value. But would the Broncos still consider bringing in a veteran option through free agency? Jacob Infante of Pro Football Network feels that could be a possibility, as he predicts that former Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku will land in Denver.
"The Browns struck gold with Harold Fannin Jr. in last yearโs draft, so itโs no surprise David Njoku wasnโt brought back. It is a slight surprise heโs still a free agent, though; he ranked in the top ten among NFL tight ends in receptions every season from 2022 to 2024.
