The 2026 Miami Grand Prix changed the shape of the Formula 1 title fight. Kimi Antonelli delivered another huge statement with victory around the Hard Rock Stadium. The Mercedes rookie held off both McLaren drivers in a tense race and extended his championship lead.

It was his second win in three races after taking the top spot in Japan. That result has given Antonelli 100 points after just four rounds. He now leads Mercedes teammate George Russell by 20 points.

It is a strong position this early in the season. Behind the Silver Arrows, the battle is getting tighter. That cost him valuable points. McLaren had reason to smile after Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri both finished on the podium. Norris moved ahead of Lewis Hamilton in the standings, though he remains far behind Antonelli.
