Aaron Rodgers to Arizona Cardinals possibility 'not at all real'
While there is noise about Aaron Rodgers perhaps coming to play for the Cardinals, we finally get some insight.
It has not been a topic here since early in the offseason, but the topic of quarterback Aaron Rodgers signing with the Arizona Cardinals has started to become a thing. It makes sense in some ways, as we noted back before free agency. However, the noise is just offseason chatter.
No reporter has said that the Cardinals have reached out to Rodgers, who remains a free agent and has not yet decided whether he will retire this offseason or not. No reporter has said Rodgers is considering teams other than the Pittsburgh Steelers, for whom he played last season. In fact, ESPN's Josh Weinfuss had this to say: I asked a source today if all the noise about Aaron Rodgers going to the Cardinals was real?
โNot at allโ was the response. So, thereโs that. โ Josh Weinfuss (@joshweinfuss) May 5, 2026 The noise is "not at all" real.
Rodgers to the Cardinals makes some sense. He has worked with Cardinals offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett in the past. The Cardinals could use a quarterback upgrade.
