They've lost in the first round, the second round, the Eastern Conference Finals and the NBA Finals. They've also won the NBA Finals, which they did in 2024. The Celtics' three non-Finals exits were both shocking and puzzling, as they were heavily favored to win all three series.
It didn't help that their best player, Jayson Tatum, got hurt in all of them, leaving Boston shorthanded at the worst possible time. Another green team, the Philadelphia Eagles, has been on a similar trajectory. Over the last five years, the Eagles have won a Super Bowl, lost a Super Bowl, and lost three Wild Card Round games.
