Athlete of the Week nominees are compiled by what's available on MaxPreps and by submission, so coaches, athletic directors and statisticians are encouraged to send nominees and their stats to nram@usatodayco. com for consideration. Last week's winner was Savannah Loges from the Oak Hall girls lacrosse team.
Slaymaker received over 5,000 votes as she had 8 saves in the game, shutout Pensacola Catholic in the 4th quarter when her team was down by one and assisted on the game-winning goal. Voting closes at noon on Friday, May 8. Adele Zarrinpar, Oak Hall girls track and field First place in the triple jump in the Class 1A-Region 2 meet.
Addilynn Welbers, Trenton softball Four hits, two runs, two doubles, a triple and three RBIs in the Tigers' 12-2 district title win over Williston. Aiden Phillips, Williston baseball One run, one hit and two RBIs in the Red Devils' region semifinal-clinching 9-4 win over Marathon. Ariel Koralewski, Gainesville High softball Two hits, three RBIs and a double in the Hurricanes' 7-6 district title win over Deltona.
