Week 2 of the Michigan Girls High School Flag Football League is in the books! Hometown Life sports reporter Brandon Folsom is here to name the MVPs from each game around the region and explain why they stood out amongst the rest. , Farmington, Farmington Hills, Garden City, Livonia, Milford, Northville, Novi, Plymouth, Redford, South Lyon, Wayne, Walled Lake, Westland, White Lake and Wixom. WAYNE MEMORIAL 24, WESTLAND JOHN GLENN 12 Skyann Penn, Wayne: Had two interceptions, including a 16-yard return for a TD with 47 seconds left to seal the win for the Zebras. She also added a tackle for loss and 33 rushing yards, setting the tone as the team’s emotional leader.

The deeper she gets into a game, the more Wayne responds. More: Michigan girls high school flag football Week 2 stat leaders Bayley Wiseley, Glenn: Played an all-around game, finishing with two catches for 44 yards, two rushes for 32 yards and two pass breakups. Her 12-yard TD on a reverse with 4:55 left tied the score at 12, but Wayne’s offense and defense were too much in crunch time.

WESTLAND JOHN GLENN 21, ROMULUS 12 Amiya Handy, Glenn: Four Rockets lined up at QB and attempted passes, but Handy got the start and looked good in the pocket. She went 5 of 7 for 41 yards, including an 8-yard TD to Paityn Smith, and also converted extra points to Aysia Jones and Addison Sayyae. REDFORD THURSTON 29, REDFORD UNION 6 Emiya Franklin, Thurston: The Eagles’ defense forced five interceptions, two by Franklin.
