Michigan football's defensive line gets a major boost with Utah transfer John Henry Daley, an All-American edge rusher.

Kyle Whittingham has often said that Michigan football's biggest strength is the defensive line, and while that was apparent in the spring game, it should be much more apparent come the season. And the big reason why is that we haven't seen arguably the biggest impact player that the Wolverines have to offer. There hasn't been a ton of hype surrounding Utah transfer John Henry Daley, in large part due to him not being available in spring ball after rupturing his Achilles tendon to close out last year.

But the All-American had one of the best seasons an edge rusher could have, and after bursting onto the scene last year, should he return healthy as anticipated, he could be a real game-changer. So much so that he came in sixth in CBS Sports' biggest impact transfers in 2026. 6.
