Barcelona reach renewal agreement with 19-year-old La Masia talent – report According to SPORT , FC Barcelona have reached an agreement with teenage academy prospect Max Bonfill over a new contract. The 19-year-old goalkeeper, whose current contract stood to expire in June, has decided to continue his development with the Catalans and will soon ink a new deal to prolong his stay at the club. Bonfill rejects offers to continue at Barcelona As per the report, Bonfill had received attractive offers from reserve teams in Spain, as well as proposals from England and other European clubs, but his desire to continue at Barcelona has prevailed.
As such, the La Masia goalkeeper has reached an agreement with the club’s youth football management to sign a new contract that will allow him to join the Barça Atletic squad. Bonfill signed his first contract with the Blaugrana when he progressed from Cadete A to Juvenil B. After successfully completing his three years at the youth level, he will now take the next step to continue his growth at the club.

He has made 24 appearances for Pol Planas’ side across competitions, establishing himself as a key figure. However, in the final part of the season, Bonfill has alternated in goal with Iker Rodríguez, another highly rated goalkeeper who has returned from a long-term injury and has been given opportunities to demonstrate his level.
Over the past two seasons, Bonfill has already been included in matchday squads for Barça Atletic on several occasions, although he has yet to make his debut. Now that he is set to be a part of the reserve team, his official debut is expected to come sooner. Hansi Flick is also familiar with the goalkeeper, as Bonfill has trained with the first team on several occasions, leaving a positive impression on the coaching staff.
