Port Vale offer captain Ben Garrity a new contract as they prepare for life back in League Two next season.

Relegated Port Vale have offered a new contract to captain Ben Garrity. The attacking midfielder, 29, joined Vale from Blackpool in June 2021 and has made 198 appearances in all competitions. He was part of the club's successful promotion to League One in 2024-25 and featured 28 times this term after his pre-season was significantly affected by injury.

While talks with Garrity continue, Vale also announced defender Connor Hall and midfielder Ryan Croasdale will be staying for the 2026-27 season after triggering extensions to their contracts. Seven players from Vale's squad that came up from League Two under Darren Moore two seasons ago - Ben Amos, Mitch Clark, Ben Heneghan, Jesse Debrah, Sam Hart, Ben Lomax and Funso Ojo - are being released, along with Arron Davies, Tyler Magloire, Grant Ward and Andre Gray. Goalkeeper Marko Marosi, and midfielder Jordan Shipley, who both signed two-year contacts at the start of the season, have been made available for transfer as have Rico Richards and Ruari Paton.

Vale will have 19 players under contract at the club as they start their summer rebuild under boss Jon Brady for life back in League Two, after a disappointing campaign that saw them finish 22nd, 10 points from safety.
