According to The Athletic’s George Caulkin , Newcastle midfielder Lewis Miley broke his leg in training and will miss the remainder of the season, and who knows how much time going forward. Per Caulkin, Newcastle informed media that Miley “will now see a specialist before embarking on a rehabilitation programme in conjunction with the club’s medical team,” adding that the midfielder is “expected to be fit again in time for pre-season ahead of the 2026-27 campaign. ” Miley is coming off his best season donning the black and white stripes, appearing in 34 games across all competitions while contributing three goals and four assists for the Magpies.

Just 20 years old, Miley was the youngest player to contribute to the first team this campaign, with no other player within Newcastle’s Premier League squad younger than 21 (Lewis Hall, 27 games played). Miley averaged 0. 12 goals per 90 to go with 0.

17 assists, and only two players in the EPL younger than 21 topped his total minutes this season. Since he made his pro debut back in 2022-23, Miley has appeared in 80 games for Newcastle’s first team and 15 times for Newcastle’s U21 squad, contributing 20 total goals+assists combined between both teams.
