MSU football locks in official visit with new Texas 3-star LB target
Michigan State football is making up ground quickly on a new linebacker target from Texas. One day after receiving an offer from the Spartans, Rome Ewell of Springtown, Texas announced he'll be taking an official visit to Michigan State next month. According to a post from his social media X account, he will visit Michigan State on June 19.
Ewell is listed as a three-star linebacker, with a recruiting rating of 86 in 247Sports' system. He is also ranked as the No. 88 linebacker and No.
1,039 overall prospect in the 2027 class. Michigan State joins a long list of schools to express interest in Ewell. According to 247Sports, he also holds notable offers from Louisville, Houston, Boston College, Iowa State, Arizona State, Kansas State , Memphis, Texas State, North Texas, Tulsa and a few other group of six schools.
According to 247Sports, Ewell was set to take an official visit to Boston College on June 19 so the assumption is that he'll be replacing that visit with his trip to Michigan State. He also has reported official visits lined up with Houston (May 28), Louisville (June 5) and Iowa State (June 12).
