High school track and field: Top performances (Week 9 update) ... 6 new state records set at BYU Invite

Of the 38 combined boys and girls events contested in Utah, the best time this season in 23 of those events was recorded at last week’s BYU Invite. Among those were a pair of new hurdles state records from Weber’s Josh Hamblin, and Herriman’s Jackson Spencer setting a new 800 meter state record. Spencer also helped Herriman’s sprint medley relay team set a new state record.
For the girls, Pine View’s Kiera Sam Fong broke the 26-year-old discus state record, while Snow Canyon’s Amelia Nadauld broke her own 300 hurdles top mark. Here’s a look at the top boys and girls track and field performances at UHSAA sanctioned events in all 38 events through nine weeks. Individuals are only listed once if they have multiple top-15 results in the same event; wind times are not included.
