The injury initially raised concerns about a lengthy absence for Minnesota’s leading star. Despite that setback, the Timberwolves managed to close out the series without him.

Attention then quickly turned to whether he could recover in time for the next round against the Spurs. The answer arrived sooner than expected. Edwards returned for Game 1, significantly ahead of schedule, shifting the narrative from concern to impact.

What did Anthony Edwards do to accelerate his recovery? Photo by Lachlan Cunningham/Getty Images Edwards was initially told he would need at least two weeks to recover, according to The Athletic. However, that projection did not align with his own expectations.

He reportedly began an intensive recovery process after the diagnosis. That included pool workouts designed to reduce pressure on the knee while maintaining conditioning. Edwards also used a hyperbaric chamber and consulted both specialists and team medical staff.

The aim was to explore every available option to speed up healing. That approach paid off quickly. Although he started from the bench, Edwards still played 25 minutes and delivered a meaningful contribution on his return against the Spurs.
