Hugo Keenan has signed a two-year extension with Leinster, cementing his future in Irish rugby and showing no signs of slowing down. The 29-year-old full-back has been a key player for the British and Irish Lions during their tour against Australia last summer. His 46 international caps since making his debut in October 2020 have been crucial to Ireland's success on the field.
Keenan’s consistent performance has helped Leinster win five URC titles, including three consecutive titles under head coach Andy Farrell. Ireland Head Coach Andy Farrell praised Keenan’s consistency and commended his commitment to the country: "Hugo is a top-class performer and I am really pleased that he is continuing his journey in Ireland. He has been a model of consistency since his debut in 2020 and I believe that the best is yet to come as he continues to set the highest standards on and off the field of play.
" IRFU Performance Director David Humphreys echoed Farrell’s sentiments, expressing delight at Keenan's future commitment: "Hugo has established himself as one of the leading full-backs in the world game and we are excited that he has committed his future to Irish Rugby. A talented and committed athlete, Hugo has proven himself consistently for club and country for many years and I have no doubt that he will continue to progress in the seasons to come. "
