WTGL adds six LPGA players for its inaugural season
Celine Boutier, Andrea Lee, Minjee Lee, Danielle Kang, Megan Khang and Albane Valenzuela are the most recent commitments to the WTGL, which starts play this fall.
The first-year WTGL now has five of the top 10 players in the world for its inaugural season expected to start later this year at Sofi Center in Palm Beach Gardens . 24 in the world; LPGA Tour winner; Minjee Lee, No. 7 in the world; three-time major champion; Danielle Kang, six-time LPGA Tour winner; major champion; Megan Khang, LPGA Tour winner; four-time Solheim Cup team member; and Albane Valenzuela, three-time Olympian. Collectively, the group represents eight countries, 92 LPGA Tour victories and 12 major championships. “WTGL continues to build momentum as a global platform for LPGA stars and women’s team golf,” said Pete Jung, Chief Marketing Officer of TMRW Sports. “With today’s brand reveal and 14 LPGA Tour players now committed — including major champions, Olympians and Solheim Cup players from around the world — this milestone underscores the excitement we’re seeing from players, team ownership groups and potential partners as we prepare for WTGL’s inaugural season.
” WTGL also unveiled its logo on May 4 at a reception for WTGL players at the LPGA Tour’s Mizuho Americas Open. WTGL previously announced Arthur M. Blank and AMB Sports and Entertainment and Alexis Ohanian with Los Angeles Golf Club as WTGL’s first two ownership groups.
