Chelsea linked with move for Xavi Chelsea are considering appointing former Barcelona manager Xavi Hernández next season according to reports. The Blues are currently without a manager after sacking Liam Rosenior last month with Enzo Maresca having been dismissed earlier in the season. According to journalist Miguel Delany of The Independent , Chelsea want to keep with a certain footballing philosophy and they feel that Xavi would be a good fit for the role.
Xavi is said to be one of a number of candidates being considered by the club alongside Xabi Alonso , former player Cesc Fàbregas , and Francesco Farioli , who just won the Portuguese league with Porto. One name who had been linked with the Stamford Bridge post in recent weeks has been outgoing Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola , however his style of football is not considered to be in line with what Chelsea are looking for. Former Spain international Xavi stepped into management with Qatari side Al-Sadd before taking the Barcelona job early into the 2021/22 season.
He won the league the following season but was replaced by Hansi Flick following a disappointing 2023/24 campaign.
