A U. S. District Court judge declined to issue a temporary restraining order against the Trump administration regarding an historic Washington, D.

C. golf course. Jude Ana Reyes said during a hearing on Monday she's holding off on the order brought by the DC Preservation League, who filed an emergency petition to stop work on the golf course.

Reyes also told the National Park Service that it should first discuss any plans with government lawyers if it is going to cut down more than 10 trees, according to the Associated Press . This comes on reports that renovation work at East Potomac Golf Course was to begin on Monday, May 4. Kevin Griess, the superintendent of the National Mall and Memorial Parks for the Park Service, said during the hearing that there was no plan to begin such work Monday but added that a safety assessment was underway.

At one point, Reyes quipped "I'm no Amy Poehler," in reference to the popular sit-com Parks and Rec, but also said she didn't want any trees being taken down. The Assocaited Press report states that the "complaint filed against the Department of the Interior argues that the Trump administration's reconstruction of East Potomac Park, including the East Potomac Golf Course, would violate the congressional act that created the park in 1897. The roughly 130-year-old act established the park for the 'recreation and the pleasure of the people.
