Newcastle United attacker Anthony Gordon could sign five-year deal with Bayern Munich
Newcastle United attacker Anthony Gordon could sign five-year deal with Bayern Munich Bayern Munich have offered Newcastle United attacker Anthony Gordon and his representatives the terms of a five-year contract, according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg. The Bundesliga club want to lure the Newcastle star away from the St James Park club this summer in what could be a big blow for manager Eddie Howe. Concrete talks have already taken place between Bayern and Gordon’s camp, but an agreement with the Magpies could prove tricky as there are yet to be club-to-club talks.
Newcastle are set to miss out on Champions League football next season from the look of things, and Gordon wants to join a club where he can compete for major silverware regularly. A move to Germany could appeal to the 25-year-old and the Magpies may need to sell him this summer to balance the books. The England international has not told Newcastle that he wants to leave, but the feeling inside St James’ Park is that he will seek a move in the summer.
The Toons’ asking price for him is likely to exceed £80 million and whether Bayern are willing to meet it remains to be seen.
