PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) — The Rivermen are won win away from their third SPHL title in five years. But the players think that last win will be the hardest in their best-of-five series with defending league champion Evansville.
Peoria leads the President’s Cup series, 2-0. “We have six guys who have won (the President’s Cup) before. It’s going to be on us to show the way,” said Rivermen forward Mike Gelatt.
The Rivermen won the first two games of the series at home but game three is in Evansville. Peoria went 1-5-1 in Evansville during the rgular season. “This is going to be the hardest game,” Gelatt said.
