There was one ray of light to emerge against Everton for Manchester City Manchester City drew 3-3 with Everton last night at the Hill Dickinson Stadium after a pulsating match. Pep Guardiola’s side took a 1-0 lead into halftime before the game was flipped on its head in the second half. Everton surged after halftime to take a 3-1 lead in the 81st minute before two late goals from Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku salvaged a point for City.

For now, Manchester City have lost ground in the title race to Arsenal. That was the overwhelming feeling to come out of last night’s match. While the result and the manner of City’s second half performance were disappointing, there was a major ray of light to come out of last night’s match for City.

That was the performance of Jeremy Doku. Doku did all he could to lead his team to victory last night. Jeremy Doku put an inspired performance for Manchester City against Everton.

As Manchester City dominated the opening half-hour of last night’s match, Jeremy Doku was by far City’s most dangerous attacking player. He had Everton right-back Jake O’Brien on skates time and time again throughout the first half. As City dominated the opening half-hour and dropped Everton deep in their own area, Doku and his combination play with Nico O’Reilly on the left wing seemed City’s most likely route to goal.

Only Everton’s stubborn defensive display kept Doku from having a bigger impact in the games opening stages. After City dominated the opening half-hour, Everton did grow into the match. Approaching halftime, you did sense that Pep Guardiola’s side needed a goal to cap off their first half dominance.
