Vote here for a Shreveport Times Week 35 non-football AOW candidate
Athletes from schools like Airline, Benton, Loyola, North DeSoto, Calvary, Bossier, Byrd, Huntington and Shreve on the ballot.
Voting is now open online for The Shreveport Times High School Athlete of the Week, sponsored by Raising Cane’s, the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission and Cosse and Silmon Orthodontics, which includes student-athletes in Louisiana high school sports other than football from 15 northwest Louisiana schools. Fans of those students, their schools or their particular sport can vote at shreveporttimes. com under “sports” for their favorite.
Voting will continue through Friday night with the winner announced Sunday. Weekly winners will receive a backpack, a boxed lunch combo and some additional swag courtesy of Raising Cane’s and Cosse and Silmon, along with a short feature story on their accomplishments, courtesy of The Times. Previously we announced a football, volleyball and cheerleader preseason fan’s choice athlete of the year.
Those include Caddo Magnet’s Violet Collier as Preseason Volleyball Player of the Year, Plain Dealing’s Jeremy Fisher as Preseason Football Player of the Year and Captain Shreve’s Zaria Hall as Cheerleader of the Year. On the Week 35 ballot for the 2025-26 school year are Allana Peninger, Airline cheer; Cole Snell, Benton baseball; Hayden Horton, Loyola baseball; Macie Cameron, North DeSoto softball; Mallory Carver, Calvary softball; Charley Alford, D’Arbonne Woods softball; Anna Atkins, Logansport softball; Maya Campbell, Bossier cheer; Kinsley Mayfield, Byrd track; Zy’Kereya Duncan, Huntington track; Cameron Duncan, Captain Shreve track; Izzy Hernandez, Evangel cheer; Iyanna Taylor, Haughton track; Amaya Major, Ruston cheer and Kraegan Jordan, Stanley softball.
