ENTERPRISE, Ala. ( WDHN )—Just weeks after being announced as the program’s first-ever head coach, Janasky Fleming was back out on the field, as the second round of tryouts got underway for Enterprise State’s brand new women’s flag football team. Throughout the day, Fleming put the ladies through various drills to showcase their fundamental skills, such as catching passes and open-field tackling, while also delving deeper into certain areas, like breaking down route concepts.

In the short amount of time they were out on the field, these ladies put on a show for Fleming, giving him a glimpse of what they can bring to the team. And it was clear that Fleming liked what he saw out on the field, as five ladies left the field with scholarships to be part of this historical team. But this just lays the foundation, as there are still several roster spots to fill.

Fleming says that starting a new program is always the hardest part, but with the Boll Weevil community and the city of Enterprise backing him, the coach believes the sky is the limit for this program. Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
