Will Wade Adds Two More Assistants To LSU Tigers Staff

Yahoo Sports

Will Wade bolsters the LSU Tigers coaching and support staff by reuniting with longtime confidants Vernon Hamilton and Greg Goldin, solidifying an elite veteran support system for his highly anticipated Baton Rouge return.

As fans wait for Will Wade to fill out his first roster back in Baton Rouge, he's still filling out the coaching staff. The Men's Basketball team announced two new exciting additions on Monday in Greg Goldin and Vernon Hamilton. Hamilton joins the staff after having coached with Wade at LSU and later with both the McNeese State Cowboys and the NC State Wolfpack.

This is obviously someone very important to Wade's operation, and it was only a matter of time until he was announced as a Tigers assistant coach. The 41-year-old was a point guard for the Clemson Tigers in the mid-2000s and then had a six-year international career before becoming a coach. Goldin comes to LSU as the new Chief of Staff and Director of Performance.

Like Hamilton, he is a longtime partner of Wade's. During his first tenure in Baton Rouge, he was the Strength and Conditioning Coach. He held this job title for Wade while with the Wolfpack.

He did not make a stop with the Cowboys, however. Wade has built out a very impressive coaching staff for his first season back. It's a bit of a surprise that recruiting hasn't picked up quicker with some of the names on their staff, but they have asked for patience.
