šŸŽ¬ Spring Ball All-Access | Part 1 https://t. co/XppYts4OKr — Hawkeye Football (@HawkeyeFootball) May 4, 2026 This first episode began as Iowa began spring practices. A large focus of this episode was the discussion of how Iowa integrates its large group of new faces into the program during spring practices, as well as improving the roster as a whole.

On Saturdays inside Kinnick Stadium, Kirk Ferentz often delegates quite a bit to his coordinators, but this access shows just how hands-on he is with the offensive linemen, leading drills and walking players through the correct form and technique. The episode continued with Tyler Barnes, Iowa's Chief of Staff and General Manager, giving some details on what Iowa's philosophy is around roster construction. While many teams are throwing money at players, Iowa works to find the balance of high school recruiting, player retention, and portal additions.

As the episode wound down and started to tease things for the next episode, assistant head coach Seth Wallace started to provide some in-depth analysis on the Hawkeyes' linebacker group, having experience from being veterans in the program, but needing an all-important spring practice to grow their on-field experience wiht each rep.
