Met Gala 2026: Serena Williams, Angel Reese, Naomi Osaka among athletes to hit red carpet at annual costume gala
Met Gala co-chair Venus Williams and fellow tennis star Naomi Osaka hit the red carpet for the annual event on Monday.

As always, plenty of the sports world’s biggest stars were in attendance, donning fashions in line with this year’s dress code: “Fashion is Art.
” Per the Met’s website , the dress code invites “guests to express their own relationship to fashion as an embodied art form and celebrate the countless depictions of the dressed body throughout art history. ” Tennis star Venus Williams was one of the first to hit the red carpet, as she is one of this year’s co-chairs, alongside Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman and Anna Wintour. Four-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson is one of the host committee members for the event.
New Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese is no stranger to the Met Gala red carpet, and she made the trip one day after a preseason game against Washington. Atlanta’s regular season begins on Saturday against the Minnesota Lynx.
