The Scarlet Knights will look to get in the win column this week and end a four-game skid.

Rutgers headed out West to take on USC following a hard-fought, 5-4 loss to UConn on Tuesday. The Scarlet Knights could not muster a win, being outscored 28-4, in a three-game sweep at Dedeaux Field in Los Angeles. Game One Zack Konstantinovsky got the ball in game one and was strong but the offense could not get going across nine innings.

The right-hander tossed six innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and striking out eight with no walks. USC scored two in the fifth inning and three in the seventh to extend during a 5-1 win. The Scarlet Knights finished with just three hits.

Gabriel Rivera drove in their only run of the game with a double in the sixth inning. Game Two Rutgers scored a first inning run but that would be it as the offense was slow again with just four hits. USC would score six runs over the next two innings to spark an 11-1 defeat for the Scarlet Knights.

Chase Krewsonโ€™s RBI double got Rutgers on the board before being shut down by Grant Govel over the final six innings. He is now 9-1 on the year after allowing just one run on four hits with five strikeouts. Game Three Rutgers went into the final game of the series looking to salvage it and USC did not give it a chance.
