After a long battle with multiple illnesses, former Canton wrestling coach Nick Joslyn died on Monday, May 4.

Longtime Canton wrestling coach Nick Joslyn died on the morning of Monday, May 4, in Lincoln, Nebraska, friends of the family announced. He was 69. Joslyn had been battling health complications from COVID-19 since September 2021, and was moved to comfort care May 3.

Joslyn started coaching at Canton in 1989 and was celebrated for 25-plus years in 2014, but he had coached for 37 years at that point. He retired from coaching after the 2015 season, and from the Canton School District after the 2017 academic year, to be closer to his grandchildren in Nebraska. "The Canton School District is saddened to learn of the passing of Mr.

Nick Joslyn," the district stated in a post to social media. "He was a cherished member of our school and community. As a Dean of Students, he used to say, "Be where you are supposed to be, doing what you are supposed to be doing.

" We are pleased to say that being a teacher and coach was exactly where Mr. Joslyn was supposed to be and making a positive impact on those around him was exactly what he was meant to do. We are proud of his legacy and grateful that he was a C-Hawk!
