Women’s Basketball: Former TCU F Marta Suarez waived by Golden State Valkyries
The All-Big 12 forward could be brought back on a developmental contract.

Selected 16th overall in the second round by the Storm, Suarez was traded to the Valkyries in a deal involving No. 8 overall pick Flau’jae Johnson. The 6-foot-3 forward appeared in one preseason game for Golden State, scoring five points on 2-of-5 shooting with three rebounds, one assist and one steal in 14 minutes played.
The Valkyries have waived 2026 No. 16 overall pick Marta Suárez, the team announced. Suárez, who was originally selected by Seattle, was involved in a draft day trade that sent the TCU forward to Golden State for No.
