m. Thursday. Carly Amorosi, Vernon The senior outfielder hit home runs in consecutive games and led to wins over Montclair and Sparta.
Amorosi went 3-for-7 for the week with home runs in both games, including a 5-2 win over Sparta on May 2 in the second round of the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex tournament. Amorosi has homered in three straight games after entering the season with two career home runs. Breanna Colburn, Randolph The senior pitcher tossed a one-hit shutout in a 7-0 win over Madison on April 28 in the second round of the Morris County tournament.
Colburn struck out a season-high 14 batters in the gem, allowing one hit and walking one batter across seven stellar innings. Julia Fox, Morris Knolls The senior infielder went 9-for-14 at the plate with eight RBIs and four runs scored, extending the win streak for the Golden Eagles to six in a row. Fox stole two bases and hit a pair of home runs, one in each of her games against Whippany Park.
Fox's home run on May 2 against Whippany Park in the Morris County quarterfinals gave the Stony Brook commit 20 home runs in her high school softball career. Erin Murphy, Morristown The sophomore pitcher allowed no earned runs while striking out 13 in a 3-2 win over Roxbury on April 28 in the second round of the Morris County tournament. Murphy also provided the offense, going 3-for-3 with two home runs and a double.
