The Morocco international spent a couple of years at Barcelona earlier in his career before heading to Osasuna on loan and then Real Betis on a permanent transfer.

Now aged 24, Abde is in the midst of his best-ever season and has the best attacking stats in the squad at Betis, per transfermarkt. The winger has 13 goals and 13 assists in all competitions, outshining team-mates Antony and Cucho Hernandez. That’s a big improvement from last season’s 14 goal involvements (nine goals and five assists) and could still rise as Betis still have four games left to play in La Liga against Real Sociedad, Elche, Barcelona and Levante.

Abde’s form has helped Betis enjoy a strong season. They currently sit fifth in the table and are the only other team in La Liga (along with Barca) to have more than one player in double figures for goals and assists. Antony and Abde are both into double figures, while Barca have seen Lamine Yamal, Fermin Lopez and Marcus Rashford all hit the same landmark this season.

It’s no surprise therefore to see Barca linked with a move for their former player, although they are not alone. The latest speculation has claimed that Liverpool are eyeing Abde as they are set to wave goodbye to Mo Salah this summer. Would you like to see him back at Barcelona or is a Premier League move more likely?
