The sports world is remembering the life of John Sterling, New York Yankees iconic radio broadcaster.
John Sterling made a lasting impact to all those who listened to him calling New York Yankees games over the past four decades. The legendary broadcaster died at age 87, it was announced on May 4, and the sports world is paying tribute to the man who produced so many great memories − and iconic calls − for generations of baseball fans. Suzyn Waldman, Sterling's longtime Yankees radio partner, reflected on her time with the legend in posting a statement on her Instagram account.
