Marseille’s Hamed Junior Traoré to be out for the rest of the season Hamed Junior Traoré (26) will not be playing for Olympique de Marseille again this season, according to reports from La Provence . After being stretchered off during Marseille’s 3-0 defeat away to FC Nantes on Saturday, the Ivorian forward was diagnosed with an injury to his right adductor muscle. That’s a big blow for the Abidjan-born player, who will consequently miss the rest of OM’s season, including the trip to Le Havre and the home game against Stade Rennais on matchday 34 of the league.
Traoré has had a mixed season, marred by several fitness issues. Having made 19 appearances (10 as a starter) for Marseille since the start of the season, the former AJ Auxerre player has been decisive on five occasions, finding the net three times and providing two assists. Loaned from AFC Bournemouth last summer, the striker saw his buy-out clause automatically triggered by the Marseille board upon his first appearance in the club’s shirt, to which he is now tied until 2030.
